Up for auction/sale is a unique piece of West Virginia financial and social history. This is an original handwritten letter dated June 23, 1924, on official letterhead from The Bank of Logan (Capital $100,000.00).

The letter is a wedding gift note written and signed by L. G. Burns, who is listed on the masthead as the bank's Vice President and Cashier. It is addressed to Mr. & Mrs. D. R. Burton. In the text, Burns offers personal marriage advice, reflecting on his own 17-year marriage.

Historical Significance:
The Bank of Logan operated during the height of the region's early 20th-century coal boom before closing during the Great Depression. The letterhead lists the prominent local officers of the era: G. W. Raike (President), L. G. Burns (VP/Cashier), and R. Stanley Burton (Assistant Cashier).

Condition Report:
The paper is in very good vintage condition with expected fold lines from mailing. The typography is bright and clear, and the cursive ink remains deeply pigmented and easily legible. Please review the photos for a closer look at the edges and paper quality.

Shipping: Will be shipped flat in an archival sleeve with heavy cardboard reinforcement to prevent bending during transit.
