WWII U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES AERIAL GUNNER WINGS — STERLING SILVER, AMICO, WITH ORIGINAL BOX
Original WWII-period USAAF aerial gunner qualification wings in sterling silver, made by AMICO (American Metalcraft Insignia Co.) and clearly marked "AMICO STERLING" on the reverse.
The winged-bullet gunner badge was awarded to bomber crew gunners — the men who manned the machine guns on B-17s, B-24s, and B-29s. Two-piece construction with the winged bullet separately applied, the classic full-size 3-inch pattern.
INCLUDES:
• Original sterling silver aerial gunner wings, pinback with locking catch
• Original Waltham presentation box with satin lining (shows age wear, lid interior stamped "WALTHAM")
CONDITION:
Original silver patina with light tarnish — never polished, exactly as found. Pin and catch are intact and functional. The box shows wear consistent with 80+ years of storage. Please review all photos carefully.
